Tagging and Pricing

Our software is designed to keep everything as simple, fast and user friendly as possible, especially when tagging multiple items.

We have tips and suggestions for tagging your items here:

General

Ensure all items are clean and in working order.    No missing pieces.

Clothing and handbags must be clean and free of rips or tears.     Secure all buttons and zippers.     Items that have a strong smoke odor will not be accepted.

If using a tagging gun, please only tag on seams or manufacturer’s tags.

Furinture must be clean and free of rips and tears.     Items that smell of smoke, pet urine, or are covered in pet hair will not be accepted.

Broken Items will not be accepted

Preparing Clothing

Hang clothing with the hook of the hanger facing left.

When hanging sets of clothing, secure both hangers together with a rubber band.

For slippery and strappy items use notch hangers.

Bottoms must be hung by the waistband and a pant hander. Do not use safety pins when hanging.

Preparing Accesories

Hats, belts, and scarves do not require hangers. They will be hung on hooks or displayed on tables.

Earings need to be atttached to card stock and taped on the back.

Jewelry sets should be attached together.

Pricing Items

Our general rule of thumb is to price the item to sell.   We suggest 50% to 70% off retail price.

Always remember if you can get your item at Ross for $6.00dollars please do not try and resell it for $8.00

At Justuff, our goal is the same as your: sell your stuff!!!

So, in an effort to make everyone happy, we have a few suggestions.

If after the first week your item does not sell, consider discounting it another 25%-40%

If that doesn’t create interest after a short time, consider discounting it another 50%.

If still nothing, well, we ask that you pick up the items and try at another one of our events.

Making and Printing Tags

Our pricing and tagging software will allow you to easily enter each item. Each item will have your consignor number and if you wish to discount or donate that item. Tags only need be entered once and can be printed directly from a home computer and printer. We recommend a minimun of 65lb paper for the tags.

*Discount – You can keep the item at full price or or have the option to discount it ½ OFF during the last day of the sale. We recommend selecting this option.

*Donate – This gives you the opion to donate the item at the end of the sale. We will donate items to our designated charity. You will not need to pick them up. If you choose to not donate your unsold items you will need to pick up all items between 3 and 6 on Sunday the last day of the event.

If you choose to not donate your items, you can leave the tags on and sell your items at our next event without reprinting or re-tagging!

Printing Your Tags

The barcode on the tag must be clear and legible. The “normal” setting on most printers is the best setting for good results.     If you don’t have a reliable printer, you can save your tags in PDF format and print them anywhere, such as a copy center.     We offer computer services, along with tagging supplies at our location.     You will need to setup an appoitment and a $20 fee applies for this service.

Attaching Your Tags

Using a tagging gun or a safety pin, attach your tag to the front, top right of each hanging garment.     If the garment is very delicate, attach the tag to a seam or tag.

Since shoppers will be trying on shoes, tags must be secured with ribbon and a hole punched tag, safety pin, or clear packing tape on the bottom of the shoe.    Do not tag shoe boxes.

Loose items and accessories should be tagged with ribbon or safety pins.

Larger jewely should be tagged with ribbon and a hole punched tag.

For earrings and smaller jewelry, print the tag first, then attach the item to the tag, taping on the back if needed.

For high-end items like handbags, use multiple mini zip ties.

Use ribbon to affix tags to glassware.

Affix tags to the legs of furiture with tape.

For small games and toys, put the item in a plastic bag and affix the tag to the bag.
